I would like to "save" some of the roses from my mother-in-laws floral piece - how do you do this?

if you hang them upside down, they will dry out and still keep their shape. then they will last a long time, as long as you don't accidentally brake them. also you can spread them out from the center, flatten them and put them in wax paper.

in both instances, they will lose their bright color (the color will get darker), but it is still pretty and a nice way to save them.

There is a product on the market which preserves organic material indefinitely, the colour, shape... used mainly for flowers. Can't remember if it's an epoxy resin or a silicon gel but if you check a local arts and crafts store they'll be able to point you to the right product.
