Alternatives to floral centrepieces?
OSTRICH FEATHERS - They are so glam looking. I am using them as my centerpieces. they are a bit pricey, but look awesome you can get them in any color google ostrich feather centerpieces and you'll love them! I am getting married in MArch 09 if you like, you can but minw when i'm done....
Reply:You could take the black candle sticks and place them on top of a big mirror. Then you could sprinkle some white rose petals around the mirror and candle sticks, like this:

Or, perhaps you could put two black candle sticks in between one of those giant martini glasses. You could place some water and floating candles in the glasses for a nice affect - or you could add some of that crystal ice to the glasses. Maybe something like this: http://www.templeemanuelpgh.org/_storage...

There are lots of things out there that you can do without flowers. Here are a few other ideas:

I hope that this helps! Good luck! ♥
Reply:I got lots of ideas from www.theknot.com. There are many flower centerpiece ideas (of course), but there are also some other ideas-like fruit centerpieces, goldfish bowls, and many more. The site is also helpful for almost anything else you can think of for your wedding/reception.
Reply:We are taking top hats and turning them upside down and putting red roses in them. Our theme is black and white with a splash of red. The roses being the splash of red at the tables. I know you dont want flowers, but what about like a off colored satin runner under the candlesticks to make them pop.
Reply:Candles are awesome center peices you can put them in a tall hurricane vases and put clear glass stones in he bottom. Black and white is classt put the centerpieces could also be the chance to add that punch of color..maybe use red stones instead to make it dramatic. its up to you! You can also *** some rhinestones from a craft store and put them around the table, they really catch the light and will go well with your theme as well.

something kinda like this..but more glamourous.

best of luck
Reply:Fruit- Blackberries and Cream- A huge bowl/tower or blackberries and brie. You could also do things with shells- white sand dollars or starfish on black tablecloths. Rocks would do well too- some snowflake obsidian, which is dark grey and white.

YOu could also get some cool strings of lights (round lanterns or square on strings in black and white).
Reply:I used beige fans on beige flower stands along with ice buckets because we put the bottles of wine directly on the tables. You might want to look for black and/or white fans with stands. I got mine in bulk and it was really cheap. And boy were they ever taken!!! People snatched them up and took them home with them. We did not have ANY left!
Reply:white silky fabric scrunched/bunched up in the center of the table with the candle sticks in the center. The tablecloths should be black with white napkins. If you want more bling, you can try a fabric with some sparkle.
Reply:Large bowls each with some black and white stones in the bottom and a small black fish (goldfish do come in black).

Reply:How about filling a fancy vase or hurricane sconce with those decorative stones and dropping one of those illuminating lights in the center...for the glowing effect?

I was at a wedding and they were absolutely gorgeous and very unique!
Reply:You can try candles, a bowl with the heads of some daisies floating inside or balloons in the colors you chose for your wedding? :)
Reply:How about some feathers as welll..
